I. Client Background and Previous Challenges
AAT, a tire distributor based in Iraq, serves a growing network of commercial truck fleets across the country’s key transport corridors. With Iraq’s logistics sector relying heavily on road transport, fleet customers require truck steer tire performance that handles both sustained highway speeds and frequent urban stop-start conditions. Previously, fleets struggled with uneven wear on steer and trailer positions, reduced casing durability under high ambient temperatures, and inconsistent performance between long-haul legs and city deliveries—driving up cost-per-kilometer and straining after-sales support.
The FR969 is engineered for long-haul highway service with a steer-axle-focused design balancing mileage, fuel efficiency, and handling stability. Its crown utilizes spiral-wound steel cord belt technology, enhancing circumferential rigidity for safety at sustained highway speeds. The reinforced tread compound improves wear resistance while reducing rolling resistance. The 385 65R22.5 tires variant is particularly suited to wide-base trailer and steer applications where high-speed load stability is critical.
III. Performance Results
Fleet feedback confirmed that the FR969 radial truck tire delivered 60,000–70,000 kilometers across combined highway and urban routes before reaching replacement thresholds—achieved under prolonged highway cruising at elevated ambient temperatures and frequent low-speed urban maneuvering. Tread wear patterns remained uniform, with no reported shoulder irregularity or premature belt-edge separation. The 385 65R22.5 tires units demonstrated stable performance under high-speed load, consistent with Forlander’s design intent for wide-base highway applications.
IV. Client Feedback and the Future
The distributor reported strong satisfaction: “Our fleet customers need tires that work as hard on the highway as they do in the city. The FR969 has given them confidence in both environments—mileage is predictable, wear is even, and downtime has dropped. For our market, where every kilometer counts, this is exactly what we need.”
Looking ahead, AAT plans to expand its Forlander FR969 TBR Tire inventory and introduce the line to additional fleet accounts in Iraq’s central and southern transport corridors. The positive mileage results provide a reference case for converting other customers from competing brands to Forlander’s portfolio.
