A major container terminal in South Korea was struggling with premature reach stacker tyres failures caused by tight yards, rough paved gravel roads, and 12-hour daily shifts. After switching to Forlander’s 18.00-25 48PR JU911, a tire in korean solution built for the toughest port conditions, the terminal achieved outstanding results: after 149 hours of use, tread wear was only 2mm, with an estimated service life of around 4,500 hours.
I. Client Background
The client operates a busy container terminal in Korea, running reach stackers daily on paved gravel roads under highly demanding conditions. Their equipment handles containers in tight yards with frequent turns, heavy loads, and 12-hour daily shifts. With a fleet of reach stackers working around the clock, the terminal depends on reliable reach stacker tyres to keep container flow moving and avoid costly operational delays.
II. Previous Challenges
The terminal’s reach stacker tires were failing prematurely. The narrow yard layout, rough surfaces, and constant turning put extreme stress on the front axle, where four tyres carry most of the load. Frequent replacements increased costs and downtime.
III. The Forlander Tire in Korean Solution
Forlander recommended the 18.00-25 tyre — specifically the 18.00-25 48PR JU911. This super deep tread bias, tubeless tyre features a 67mm tread depth and heat-resistant compounds. Designed for reach stackers and container handlers, the JU911 was installed on all four front wheel positions.
JU911 Basic Information:
JU911 is a super deep tread pattern designed for reach stacker and material handler in pack and stack applications.

IV. Forlander Tire Performance Results
Installed in August 2026, the tyres were inspected after 149 hours of use by 7 September 2026. Tread depth had only dropped from 67mm to 65mm — just 2mm of wear. Even under harsh conditions, this port tire demonstrated outstanding abrasion resistance, with an estimated service life of around 4,500 hours.
V. Client Feedback
The client reported excellent wear performance despite difficult terrain and intensive daily operation. The reach stacker tyres have reduced replacement frequency and improved overall fleet efficiency.
VI. The Future
The terminal plans to expand Forlander’s reach stacker tyres across more equipment and locations. Based on the strong performance of the JU911, the client is now considering Forlander tyres for additional reach stackers and other port-handling machinery. Confident that Forlander delivers durable, cost-effective solutions, the terminal aims to build a long-term partnership for port operations in Korea and beyond.
